Futures and options
Trading in futures and options is high risk. Studies by SEBI have found that a large majority of individual traders in equity derivatives incur net losses. You can lose your entire capital and, in some strategies, more than your capital. Leverage magnifies both gains and losses.
Intraday trading
Intraday and short-term trading involves rapid price changes, transaction costs, taxes and slippage, all of which reduce returns. Do not trade with money you cannot afford to lose or with borrowed money.
Tools have limits
Scanners, indicators and chart patterns are mechanical rules. They produce false signals. Open interest and option-chain data describe positions, not what happens next. Alerts can be late or fail because of network, device or data issues; do not rely on them as your only safeguard.
